SatoMade Tote Bags

Before the holidays, Chronicle Books held an employee craft fair to sell hand-made goods in-house amongst co-workers. Since I’m not crafty, I had Russell take my place and he made some bags. This was his first time selling anything but he’s been making bags for years, just for me. It’s about time he started expanding his market.

He made some rucksack backpacks and tote bags. I caught a few behind-the-scene photos of the bag-making process. IMG_2859{Waiting patiently for the fabric to be cut at Jo-Ann’s. We sure miss the fabric stores in NYC}IMG_2870{Measuring out the bags}IMG_2873{Working hard into the night}

Here’s the final product along with some other goods made by my talented co-workers. IMG_2898 IMG_2899 IMG_2900 IMG_2901 IMG_2902 IMG_2903 IMG_2904 IMG_5251We sold out of the rucksack backpacks but we have 3 more tote bags that we’ve made available on Etsy here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/SatoMade

I kept a bag for myself. The black and gray goes with everything. I love how clean it looks. And it’s perfect for hauling around my laptop and other everyday items. Grab one while they’re still available. Limited first edition of a SatoMade bag.

Hopefully this is just the start of the shop. Russell’s also open to making custom designs for friends, so just let me know if you’re interested!
