Napa with New Yorkers

My friends from New York visited San Francisco recently and invited me on their trip to Napa. You don’t have to ask me twice!

Tasting #1: Schramsberg Vineyards

A sparkling wine tasting in underground caves. The candle-light in the tasting room added an extra nice touch to the experience.

Tasting #2: Chateau Montalena

Felt too much like an amusement park gift shop with all the Bottle Shock movie swag.

Tasting #3: Stag’s Leap

Best wine of the day! Beautiful grounds and a really gracious host who was also an East Coast transplant. We couldn’t believe how beautiful the day was with birds chirping and flowers blooming. California truly is a winter’s paradise.

Good thing I was there to take all these romantic photos of this beautiful couple! I tasted much better wines on this trip than my last. But I’m afraid they failed to impress these New Yorkers who prefer French wines. We had a fun day regardless, and I was so happy to spend time with my long-distance friends.
