Sunday Supper: Make Your Own Pizza

Back in January, Russell and I kicked off a series of Sunday Suppers with friends, where everyone takes turns making different parts of the meal. Here’s a look at our second gathering that our friends hosted at their new home in San Francisco.

They bought the raw sourdough pizza crust from a popular pizza spot called Goat Hill Pizza and all the fixings (mmm…burrata) to make our own delicious pizzas.

Transferring the dough onto a pizza stone proved a little challenging…IMG_4475 IMG_4477

But successful!

For dessert I made mini nutella brownies, inspired by Cup Of Jo. They came out a bit dry (should’ve baked for 8 minutes rather than 10), but we served them with a side of rich San Francisco Creamery ice cream, so all was well.

The Sunday Supper gathering also doubled as a house-warming party for our friends. Here’s the view from their new condo. Siiick.

I was totally nosy and grabbed this Chronicle book  off the host’s bookshelf. I gave it to her a few months ago. It’s a coloring book for adults: Secret Garden by Johanna Basford.

Look what she did with it!

Impressive, right?

Thanks Kirby and Edward for the good grub and hospitality!

And I can’t wait to see how our re-make of Pharrell’s Happy music video comes out. LOL.

  1. Ahhh shame!! I need to carve out more time to color! :X Edward’s out of town this week so I’ve set myself a goal of finishing that page before he gets back. Great documentation of the pizza process!

  2. We LOVE doing pizza dinners with friends! It’s great because they can personalize their own little pizza. I like to make dough… i know sounds funny but it’s solo true. I cannot wait to see your happy video if you share it. I rock out to it in the morning to get pumped up!

  3. I’ve been wanting to do something like this since I got married. When I was single my roomies and I had dinners like this a few times a week and it was so wonderful!

  4. This Sunday Suppers idea inspires me!! You make me dream of being young and urban :). Tip: parchment under the pizza – makes for easy transferring. My girls are going to love that you shared Pharrell’s video, and they (along with me) will want to see yours, too. This post gave me so many ideas – definitely getting that coloring book for my bestie’s bday. xoxox Erynn!!

    • Thanks Kelli! I’m much more suburban and boring than these pictures might lead you to believe. Glad to provide some inspiration though 🙂 The coloring book really is amazing. I’d love to hear how your friend likes it. Your girls might like it too!
