A Hike in Mount Diablo State Park

Mount Diablo

I see Mount Diablo in the distance almost every day while driving. It was time to get to know it better. So during the MLK holiday weekend Russ and I went on a 7-mile hike around Mount Diablo State Park. The hike was strenuous with lots of climbing and little sun coverage in most areas. I couldn’t believe how warm it was for January. Not advisable to do this hike in the summer.

We did the Mitchell Canyon-Eagle Peak Loop. The Bay Area Hiker site is a great resource for in-depth descriptions and trail guides.IMG_4268   IMG_4276 IMG_4274IMG_4280 unnamedIMG_4287 IMG_4288 IMG_4295 photo 1
