BEA 2013

Last week the book industry got together at the Javits Center in New York to meet for the annual Book Expo America. I was busy meeting with clients but took some time to walk the show. Here are some scenes from this year’s BEA!

The line for a galley give-away

I thought this was hilarious. And I was tempted.

The food at the Javits Center is nothing to write home about. But my lunch break was made a tad bit better with this galley of Amy Tan’s new book The Valley of Amazement.

Cutest onesie ever.

Muscle men signing their calendars

Grumpy Cat was by far one of the most popular “author” appearances. Hundreds of people lined up, some for more than two hours. Β I settled for this pug instead.Β IMG_3211

And here was my other celebrity signing, though there was a barricade of security around him and this girl’s head totally ruined my picture!IMG_3218

  1. Wow! Looks like it was so much fun! I totally bought “Insurgent” yesterday for Zoey’s big buddy (from her buddy’s wish list). I hadn’t heard of it before seeing it on the list, I originally thought it was a strange choice for a 5th grade girl. BTW…cute pug is better than grumpy cat.
