What Russ Wore:

  • Kangol hat
  • Scotch & Soda hoodie
  • Vintage French military pants
  • Nike Air Flow shoes

What I Read:

The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling, featured in my new iPad case from Etsy.

It was tough to get into at first  with so many different characters, but once the scene was set, I was completely enraptured by J.K. Rowling’s story-telling. No surprise here but Rowling is a master at character development. She scrutinizes this small town, exposes all sorts of moral failings, and makes it impossible to look away. Great fodder for book club.

Where We Ate:

Miss Lily’s

Amazing Jamaican diner with one of the best burgers I’ve had in NY, spicy sweet potato fries, Blue Mountain Coffee, and super chill vibe.

  1. I like the sound of Miss Lily’s I love Jamaican and Caribbean food. As a student I lived in South London near Peckham where there is a big Jamaican community. My stomach still rumbles at the thought of that delicious (if a little fattening) food. What’s your opinion on digital books? iPad or Kindle?

    • I have both a Kindle and iPad, and I use my iPad more often and enjoying reading on it better, even though it’s a little heavier. I just find that I have my iPad out more since I’m browsing the web on it all the time. And I love its highlighter function and how easy it is to buy books from the apple store. The real physical book still trumps both though!
