Friday News & Give-Away

Serious envy for that dining room, the bookshelves, and the combo. TheKitchn.com did this lovely round-up of Dining Rooms with Beautiful Bookshelves.

Here are some other things found while browsing the web this week:

A publisher in Argentina has created The Book That Can’t Wait. The book is printed with disappearing ink that oxidizes and disappears within 2 months of being exposed to air. Cool idea but probably not something I’d go for considering it sometimes takes me way longer to finish a book.

10 Things you should know about the Great Gatsby-  in pictures.

10 Important Life Lessons From Children’s Books.

The Library of Congress has compiled a list of   “Books That Shaped America,” which includes some of my favorites like Charlotte’s Web and On the Road.

This new online shop looks awesome.  Based in the Bay Area, BOOK/SHOP sells a monthly curated book selection, art, small goods and furniture. Found via SF Girl by Bay.

Do you create summer reading lists? Elizabeth of E Tells Tales shares hers here.

For this weeks’ give-away,  I have a travel memoir for those looking for a little summer escape. Have Mother, Will Travel is the story of a mother-daughter journey through 20 cities and 12 countries.

To enter to win a free copy, comment below on where you’re planning or wishing to go this summer. Or just let us know what you’re reading lately. Winner will be chosen at random.

I’ll be going away next week for a trip back to California to celebrate a friend’s wedding and spend some time with my family. Have a lovely 4th of July holiday and see you back here on July 9th!

** Thanks to last week’s winner, Caasi, who voted LA as the most stylish city and is currenlty reading Jacqueline Kennedy: Historic Conversations on Life with John F. Kennedy **
